North West Resin Driveway projects

Resin-bound paving is a mixture of aggregate stones and resin used to pave footpaths, driveways, etc. It is a kind of permeable paving solution.

It is a flexible surfacing material, so is resistant to cracking.

The system is mixed on site and cold applied, using a high-quality clear resin binder to coat the aggregate particles prior to laying. Unlike resin-bonded surfacing, where a thin layer of resin is applied to the surface and then the aggregate scattered on top (which can then become loose over time and is impermeable), resin and aggregates are thoroughly mixed together prior to laying, ensuring that the aggregate is completely coated and so providing a totally bound surface. As a result, a resin-bound surface is more durable and requires less maintenance – it needs to be swept or power washed at least twice a year, to avoid the buildup of detritus and prevent the growth of moss or algae.

Resin-bound paving is a fully permeable paving solution which allows water to freely drain through the surface. Meeting the requirements of Sustainable urban drainage systems (SUDS) standards, this helps to prevent standing water and largely eliminates surface water runoff.

How much would resin driveway cost?

The cost of resin surface is influenced by a number of factors, here are some key areas that effect the cost of resin bound surface.

The size of the area you want to cover – The more surface area you need to cover, the greater the cost of the resin products and the aggregates. Bigger areas take more time too so this would be a cost factor.

The type of surface you have at the moment – for instance if your driveway has a tarmac or concrete finish then this would be the most cost effective option as we could utilise your existing driveway. After specialist preparation work has been completed your base would be ready to lay the finished resin bound surface. If your driveway surface is for instance pebbles, grass or flags then this would be a costlier option as the original ground would have to be removed to make way for a brand new base installing.

The type of aggregates you want to bind into the resin – We have a huge choice of colours and finishes for driveways. To create such a vast range we use different types of gravel and pebble aggregates and mix them with the bonded resin to create a stunning look. Aggregates vary in price so this would be a factor when we quote you.

Resin bound surfaces cost no more than an equivalent high quality paved driveway and when you bring maintenance into the equation there really is only one choice.
